El investigador Javier Olivera es autor de una nueva publicación

El policy brief Early inequalities in education and inequality of cognitive functioning in old age, escrito por el investigador CISEPA Javier Olivera, fue publicado recientemente por el Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER).

Este documento resume y analiza la publicación "Inequality in old age cognition across the world" (2018), en la que el investigador fue coautor. Además, este texto forma parte del proyecto de investigación "Survey of Health, Aging and Retirement in Europe", también conocido como proyecto SHARE, cual es una base de datos de panel multidisciplinaria y transnacional de microdatos sobre salud, situación socioeconómica y redes sociales y familiares de esta región.

Abstract:

Cognitive functioning refers to the capacity for attention, thinking, understanding, learning, decision making and problem solving. Thus, cognitive functioning is fundamental for the individual to reach autonomy, manage activities and fulfil goals. In particular, there are specific measureable cognitive skills like memory, attention, verbal skills and hypothesis formation whose levels evolve over the lifespan.
